WHOlives asks for support to start new Village Drill crews, support FGM survivors in 2024

October 23, 2023

The WHOlives team has set ambitious goals for 2024 to combat water poverty, end child marriages, eradicate female genital mutilation (FGM) and help villages thrive. As we strive to make a meaningful impact, we need your support. Click here to help.

Here are four key areas where you can help us create lasting change:

1. Start Three New Village Drill Crews: $150,000

Clean water is a basic necessity that many communities still lack. By starting three new Village Drill crews, we will provide African entrepreneurs with the technology, training and support they need to establish their drilling businesses.

2. Uplift 180 Villages with Community-Funded Wells: $900,000

Our community-funded loan program ensures that villages willing to invest in their future receive subsidized wells. Your support will help us uplift 180 villages, providing a reliable source of clean water for up to 180,000 people for the first time. Every $5 matters; after all, just a one-time donation of $5 is enough to make sure one person has clean water for the rest of their life.

3. Invest in Village Vitalization: $350,000

Access to clean water is just the beginning. Next, we want to invest more heavily in expanding economic opportunities in villages to foster independence and break the cycle of poverty. This could include providing supplies, training and support for starting small-scale farms with garden towers or other income-generating businesses, like a chicken farm or sewing shop.

4. Empower Survivors and End FGM: $135,000

Over the past year, WHOlives has been unwavering in our fight against FGM and child marriages in southwest Kenya. With your support, we’ve implemented innovative solutions that are having a real impact. From providing gas money to empower the police to confront abusers to renovating a children’s courthouse to create a safe space for girls to seek justice, your contributions are changing lives. Plus, girls fleeing violence are continuing their education thanks to the generosity of WHOlives supporters.

By making a donation to WHOlives, you’re not just contributing to our organization; you’re investing in a better future for countless individuals and communities while also building your own legacy. Your generosity can change lives, empower women and girls, bring clean water to those who need it most and show villages how to prosper and become self-reliant.

Don’t give until it hurts; just give until it feels really good. WHOlives is the perfect vehicle for giving back. We work to maximize the impact of your donation.

Join us in our mission. Visit WHOlives.org/donate and be part of the change we all want to see in the world. Your support can make a significant difference, and we are immensely grateful for your help in achieving our goals in 2024. Together, we can create a brighter and more just future.
