Akokmero Bala community is in Kole District, Northern Uganda. It is a village of over 400 families and their key economic activities are farming and raising livestock . Water is one of the major challenges they are going through. Currently they have one borehole and a spring well contracted by the government. The borehole was drilled in 1988 using metallic pipe materials which has rusted leading to water contamination. This community plans to use any means to drill a new well to reduce health risks related to yellowish unclean water and a long distance trek to the spring water source.
