Aboke Community is a rural village in the district of Oyam in Northern Uganda. The community has over 500 households with limited government services in the area. This village suffers with several challenges due to a civil war which killed off 70 people. Children and women suffer from Ebola disease, water related sicknesses, and other illnesses. Currently the community has no reliable safe water due to the high numbers of people. Only one borehole is serving two communities, leaving the higher numbers to fetch water from the streams.
Samson is a local community leader who contributed funds for the installation of a new safe well with the intention to collect funds as a water vender to further access to clean water in the community.
