Ssaayi is a village located in Kisoga Sub county, Mukono district. It’s a big village with almost 210 households, but unfortunately they all rely on dirty water from swamps, since the nearest source of clean water is more than 3km away. The leaders of the village submitted a request to our drilling partner, Suubi Community Projects, asking to be supported with the construction of a borehole. The Suubi team visited the village and carried out a water assessment and also trained the community about the Community Funded Well Program. The community were happy about the program and expressed their interest. They raised the required down payment. Our drilling team has identified an appropriate site in the middle of the village.

Having a clean water well located in the middle of this village will be a tremendous benefit to all community members.  Children will no longer be forced to travel great distances to fetch dirty water.
