SUUBI (Hope) Community Projects runs a drill team in Uganda that hand digs up to 50 wells each year. Men with pick axes and shovels descend up to 150 feet down a shaft in search of water. This back breaking and dangerous work results in 30% of their wells being abandoned because they cannot penetrate through hard rock or contaminated water found hundreds of feet below the surface. Imagine the frustration they experience after spending many days digging a hole only to have to abandon the well because they encountered contaminated ground water or impenetrable rock. Help us bring a Village Drill to this crew so they can stay above the ground and reach water more safely and more often.
So far, this amazing entrepreneurial group has been able to raise $10,000 on their own toward the purchase of their Village Drill. Please join us to help this dedicated drill crew raise the rest of the needed funds to help them fulfill their dream.
