A new Village Drill Crew is up and running in Malawi.
The first project for this new drill crew is drilling a well in a small community near Salima.
Poverty is extremely high in this remote area. Women and children are forced to fetch water from shallow, contaminated wells which they bring back to their families.
In some cases, water is more than 2 Km from their homes and several trips a day are required for cooking, cleaning and drinking.
Water borne diseases are common. Bringing clean water to this area will allow girls to stay in school and mothers to spend more time caring for their families instead of constantly walking to water.
We need to provide the new drill with tools, supplies and training so they can complete their work.
