Bingwa Primary school is located in a beautiful village in the foothills near Bomet, Kenya. The area is extremely remote and is very dry much of the time. They are so desperate for water they have begun a massive excavation project to try and catch the run off water from their pastures.
Some of the village leaders found out about WHOlives a couple of years ago and have been petitioning us to help their community with access to clean water. In July 2021 WHOlives visited this community while on an Impact Mission to Kenya. We visited with the community leaders and explained to them how our community funded well program could help them own their own borehole. The community was very excited and readily agreed to participate in this program. They were not looking for a hand out, but rather a partner to help them with their efforts.
WHOlives is committed to working with communities like Bingwa in a sustainable way. We believe encouraging communities to band together to solve their own problems is a much more effective way to combat water poverty than simply giving away water wells.
WHOlives is partnering with Bingwa by providing the community with a small grant and an interest free loan so they can have their own developed well. Your donation to this project will help this community realize their long awaited dream.
