Mentoring / Entrepreneur Beekeeping Project

Jacktone is a young man in Kenya who wanted to start a business selling honey from local beehives.  He had been managing the hives of another beekeeper for several months and wanted to start his own business but he lacked the capital and skills needed to succeed. After attending the WHOlives business training class he became confident he could realize his dream. Jack was paired with a mentor who owns more than 160 beehives. This knowledgeable mentor helped Jack build 5 modern beehives and purchase the necessary equipment to profitably run his new business. WHOlives provided funding for a low interest loan through the local savings and loan co-op and Jack begun gathering honey, packaging it and selling to local consumers.

The WHOlives business training and mentoring classes will help Jack build a bright future for his family. In a year or two he might even qualify to be a mentor in the program which will allow him to use his new skills to help others. Jacktone didn’t need a handout. He needed training and someone willing to take a chance to help him succeed.

Wow!  This project is fully funded!

Sweet Success!
