Marangata, Uganda

Marangata, Uganda

Marangata village is a semi-urban community found in Namayumba subcounty wakiso district. The village has approximately 150 households and 2 schools. Their main source of water are boreholes located in nearby villages where by people have to walk more than 3kms and spend several hours of waiting since they are long lines. Malangata village leaders got to know about the community funded well program from their neighboring village of Bukwiiri where a well was drilled last year. They have since been mobilizing so as to participate in the program. A site survey has been conducted and an appropriate drilling point selected. A community has now paid their down payment and work is scheduled to start.
