Mtepeni Village is on the coast of Kenya in Kilifi County. With a population of nearly 500 people, most of the villagers are farmers and do agriculture for cash crops and animal farming.
Water is the main challenge in the area. The few hand-dug wells dry up during the dry season. Other than the hand-dug wells, the majority get their water from a dam. The fact they share the same source with livestock means water-related illness is common. Boreholes will be a safer water source and the community will save money on medical bills and other costs associated with dirty water.
