T.A. Masula clean water project is a recent borehole we have drilled in Lilongwe rural district in Malawi. The borehole was donated to
Kalitela Orphan Learning Center in the village. It provides clean water to 120 children under the age of 5 and to an additional ten surrounding villages.
To date this project has enabled Footsteps Africa to mobilize 12 village chiefs who have shown interest in participating in the
Community Funded boreholes. “Our children were drawing water from open shallow wells and would experience frequent
diarrhea because these wells are not only shallow but also open to animals and dust participles to fall in. You can’t believe
this is the first borehole in this whole big village,” says Steve Mashangani, Preschool Teacher speaking to Footsteps Africa.
