Kyanika Village is a rural and very remote community in Namuganga Subcounty, Mukono District, Central Uganda. The village has approximately 150 homes.
Because it’s very rural, service delivery is very poor. Access to safe and clean water is nearly impossible. The population relies on a surface pond which is located very far from their home and the water is very dirty. Children are absent from school because they have to collect water for their families. Waterborne illnesses, especially Typhoid, are rampant. Life is difficult.
Some of the community leaders got to know about the Community Funded Well Program and they requested to participate. The community has been trained and the down payment collected. Work to drill a borehole for the village is set to start.

The current water source is a surface pond that is very dirty and dangerous for children. Community meeting about the Community Funded Well Program.
