Hellen and Sandra go to Nyakishojwa Primary School with 500 kids which is a perfect place for a well

Nyakishojwa Primary school is located in Nyakishojwa Village in Buhweju district, western Uganda. The school has a population of approx. 500 children coming 4 villages since it’s the only nearby school. The community around the school has about 200 homes. The school and the community don’t have any source of clean water. They all depend on water collected from surface ponds in swamps and these ponds are even very far from homes.

Currently, our teams are drilling in this region. Many schools and villages with water challenges have reached out to us to know about the Community Funded Well Program and how they can benefit.

Nyakishojwa Community, championed by the school, have collected their Down Payment and an appropriate drilling point has been identified. Work is set to begin

The 1.5 hours long journey back to school with containers of water is very tedious. They reach school exhausted and can’t keep attentive during their afternoon lessons.

Hellen and Sandra are in Primary 5 at Nyakishojwa. They like being smart, but unfortunately they cannot always keep their uniforms clean because the activity of collecting water makes them dirty
