Atapara Village Community is a village in the Oyam District, located in the northern part of Uganda. It has a population of 370 people. The population consists mostly of local farmers who face a number of challenges. Poor hygiene due to lack of a safe and clean water supply is one of the biggest challenges. Water related sickness is very high. Lack of food could be due to climate change.
A spot to drill a well has been surveyed and chosen and drilling has begun. *See the soil sample pictures. The color of the soil changes as they drill deeper into the Earth. The team knows when water is close by the soil color and prepares accordingly.
