Budali Village, Uganda, is where Angelica lives

Budali Village is a rural community in Wakiso District Uganda. The village has 150 homes and a population of close to 2000 people.

Access to safe and clean water is a very big challenge for this community. There is no any kind of protected water source.  The population depends on open/surface water sources like streams and ponds for all their water needs.

Unfortunately this water is very contaminated and unsafe and its the cause of most illnesses especially typhoid in children. Families spend much of their little income on treatment for waterborne illnesses.

The ponds and streams are located very far from homes. Women and children spend alot of time walking long distances to look for water

*Angelica , 60yrs old lives with her 4 grand children. She is responsible for making sure that there is water in the home and walking this long distance with a heavy conatiner full of water has resulted in her suffering from frequent backpain.

*Angelica using water at home to wash the family kitchen utensils. This water is dirty and causes typhoid especially to the children.
