Bububuu Village is on the coast of Kenya in Kwale County. With a population of nearly 1,400 people, most villagers are farmers who grow cash crops and raise animals. Water is the main challenge in the area; a few hand-dug wells dry up during the dry season. Other than the hand-dug well, the majority get their water from a dam, and because they share the same source with livestock, water-related illness is common. Boreholes will be a safer water source, and the community will save money on medical bills and other costs associated with dirty water. Children miss school due to water challenges in the area.
