At WHOlives, we’ve always believed that sustainable solutions create lasting change. That’s why our work has focused on empowering communities with clean water, education, and opportunity. Now, we’re taking another powerful step forward—one that will help protect the most vulnerable from one of the greatest threats in the world today: human trafficking.
Our founder, John Renouard, has been invited to join a critical task force in Zambia to combat human trafficking and violence against women. His role in this initiative builds on years of experience working in East Africa, where WHOlives has helped rescue more than 2,000 girls from harm in the past two years.
Why This Matters
Human trafficking is a global crisis, and sub-Saharan Africa is one of the hardest-hit regions. Traffickers exploit poverty, lack of education, and limited job opportunities to prey on young women and children. In Zambia, the government is taking a stand, launching a new Department of Anti-Human Trafficking with the support of key international partners—including WHOlives.
Through specialized training with the Children International Rescue Foundation (CIRF), John is helping to equip law enforcement and community leaders with the skills to identify trafficking networks, protect survivors, and bring perpetrators to justice. His expertise in sustainable solutions is shaping innovative, low-cost strategies that will allow these efforts to be effective—even in communities with few resources.
More Than Rescue—A Path to Empowerment
Rescuing victims is only part of the solution. Preventing trafficking before it happens is where real, long-term change begins. That’s why WHOlives focuses on empowering women and girls with education, economic opportunities, and access to clean water. When communities thrive, traffickers lose their power.
This is the work we’re passionate about, and we can’t do it alone. Every effort to fight human trafficking requires resources, collaboration, and support from people like you.
