Vijiweni village is located south of Mombasa City near Mtongwe town in Kenya. During the dry season, most water sources dry up and people travel for hours to search for water. With a population of about 450 people, farming and other small businesses are the source of income and life. Accessing clean water is a challenge in this village and waterborne diseases are a big challenge since people and livestock share the available sources of water in ponds.
The community is willing to unite and pay for the well and enjoy the benefits of clean water. A down payment has been raised and a suitable spot located for drilling the well. This is a great project to support.
*Update: The NorthPointe Church in Nacogdoches, Texas has funded this project. Hip Hip Hooray!
