Nsiima is a rural village in Nazigo subcounty, Kayunga district. The village has a population of about 1,500 people, in about 160 households. The village has 2 schools each with an enrolment of approx. 300 children.
Many of these children struggle each day walking up to 4 kilometers each way to a nearby borehole to fetch water for their families. This long walk to water makes them miss important lessons and many of these children end up dropping out of school.
We have contracted with our drilling partner SUUBI Community projects to help drill a borehole in this village. Bringing clean water closer to this community will allow the children to stay in school and progress in their education. We all know from experience that education leads to a better life.
