High fevers, intense fatigue, stomach pains at Erute Village in Kole, Uganda

Erute village community is a small village with over 380 people living within the district of Kole West which borders Kwania District in the northern part of Uganda. Agriculture is the major source of their economic activity as well as food security.

One of the major challenges this community is facing is typhoid and many water born diseases due to unsafe water from the spring water which is not well protected. Typhoid fever feels like a severe, lasting illness characterized by a high, sustained fever that gradually worsens over several days, accompanied by intense fatigue, headache, abdominal pain, and either constipation or diarrhea.

Drilling has begun.  Soil is being tested and drillers can tell when they’re going to reach the water by the color.

Typhoid is 100% preventable with clean water
