Akia Village is a small village with 130 household within bala sub county, Kole East of Kole District- Nothern Uganda. They are peasant farmers and are faced with numerous challenges such as cholera and malaria among others. They are having a shortage of water which is forcing them to use unsafe water as an alternative for drinking and home use. This leads to more sickness since not all will boil the water. The nearest borehole in the area is 2km away with high number of people using in a daily basis.
